Summary
What does this car say about you?
1. More sense than money. 2. Style, not fashion.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
GF likes the looks, esp. the pearlescent paint job, and the way it drives. Only downside is that she finds the foot pedals a bit close together (I have bigger feet and soon got used to it). Her 17 year old likes the combo. of subtle Pug 'body kit'/3 doors/front fogs...
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, but don't anticpate the need for a while. Does everything I want - goes & stops well, cheap to run, got a flexible layout and a long lasting, easily tuneable engine (should easily be good for double it's current mileage of 105k). Plus it looks good in China Blue and it's a bit different from the everyman Focus...
What are you likely to buy next?
Private or auction

£2,950

January 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got boot mat and spare set of dampers thrown in.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
The mix of sporty good looks & handling with low running costs. Reminds me of my first proper car (205XS)
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great fun. Predictable but chuckable handling with comfortable but well controlled ride (how does Peugeot do that?). Engine is relaxed for commuting -- pulls really well from low revs - but just about enough for overtakes/spirted driving.
What's it like to park?
Easy even tho rear view a bit resticted by C pillars
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nope.
What's most practical about your car?
Removeable Peugeot towbar. Really handy for towing motorbike trailer/mounting cycle racks - and the car still looks good when it's removed (10 second job)
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
CD boot changer (tho' will be updated with an MP3 compatible system)
