Value
If you're looking for perfomance without shelling out big bucks, then this has to be the one.
Costs
Rare cars, so they tend to hold their value.

On the road
Driving
Fantastic engine. Despite feeling a little undergeared at times, very rewarding when pushed.
Performance
167 bhp isn't a great deal, but it feels more when you wind it up past 4000, then there's no stopping it. Easily outruns most non-turbo cars.

Living with it
Reliability
So far no problems (touch wood). Keep it serviced and with a little TLC there should be no problems.
Image
Everyone knows the GTI 6 only. People who know a little about cars understand the Rallye and its pedigree. Always draws looks at the lights before you dissapear into the distance.
Comfort
Comfotable car to drive, both around town (for the wife) and long distance, despite not having all the add-ons, but that's what makes the car lighter and faster than the GTI6.

Security and Service
Security
Standard deadlocks and immobiliser are ok but I strongly suggest you invest in a reasonable alarm to keep the boy racers away.
Service
Local dealership are fantastic - the rallyes are rare and the staff and engineers are always interested in the car when I pay them a visit - couldn't be more freindly and helpful.
