Value
Value is great. Insurance, price of parts and servicing are great. Would be a 5 if previous owner had looked after it and therefore some less repairs. Higher road tax, also lets it down
Costs
Very good if looked after, though to do this it needs servicing every 6 months, or 6000 miles

Driving
Great driving position. Good acceleration in low gears. Revs need to be high or sluggish though. Handles well
Performance
For an old turbo deisel engine, very good. Get used to black clouds of unburnt diesel coming out the back though.

Reliability
If not serviced things can go wrong. Bought mine 2nd hand with no SH. Spent the first 8 months fixing, drop links, turbo booster, clutch cable, head gaskit oil leak.
Image
Unless you add a couple of alterations, they are a bland car compared to the 5 dr version. Spoiler, alloys and spot lights make a big dfference though, that's why I give a 4
Comfort
For the a car in this sector. It is very big, can fit 4 adults not problem and 5 at a slight squeeze. Big suspension abit soft for this though. Driving position great for long journey's much better than its competitor the Megane. Road and wind noise annoy

Nothing wrong with the engine, just the turbo booster and brake assistor have gone. Both found in a scrap yard for a few quid. Common as muck in a scrapy

Rattling from front. Normally anti roll bar drop links, but can be the bushes as the base of the engine. Common 306 fault.
