All models have six airbags including front and rear curtain bags. Four-star Euro NCAP rating is good, but not class-leading, ABS and Electronic Brake Distribution on all models. Effective immobiliser and deadlocks from Rapier models upwards; alarm with remote control central locking and deadlocks are only standard on the XSI and D-Turbo.

Useable load space will be more than adequate for most families. Plenty of space inside for knick-knacks, thanks to a series of cubby holes. Air-conditioned glovebox is ideal in summer for keeping drinks and snacks cool. The boot is equipped with a cargo net and numerous eyelets for securing luggage.
