Summary
What does this car say about you?
Smart, I use my car to meet clients at their own homes. So, I guess until I can afford a BMW, Mercedes or Audi I feel I look professional!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
All like it, mum has offered to buy it off me when I'm ready to move on.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, the fuel consumption is probably the biggest downfall followed closely by road tax. £195 for 12 months. I drive as eco-friendly as possible and manage on average 36mpg.
What are you likely to buy next?
Anything with a hearty diesel engine and 6 speed gearbox.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,250
When did you buy the car?
January 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
I feel I did, the car had only 39,000 miles on it, which was very low compared to other cars I was considering. I was also offered £100 more on the part-ex than any other dealer.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good looking, good part-ex deal offered and low mileage.
What was the dealer like?
Very professional, nothing was too much trouble.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The car feels very smooth at low speeds round town, the steering is very light. It shifts when you put your foot down and feels more aggressive (when you want it to be) than most 2.0 diesel cars, even a sporty Astra. On the motorway it does seem to wheeze at high speeds, but stick to 70 and it's fine. Larger diesel engines are much smoother, I could do with a sixth gear. Engine feels gutsy so no problems with hills.
What's it like to park?
Easy peasy, huge windows all around. Problem blind spots are the pillars to either side of front windscreen but once you get used to them it's fine.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes. £570 to get through MoT and sevice including new exhaust system and new radiator. Other general wear and tear from an 8 year old car.
What's most practical about your car?
Boot space is huge, when rear sets folded down it feels like an estate car.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I have a fairly basic model in terms of spec. CD player finds every slight scratch in my CDs and there is no aux input. I recently had a Parrot system installed and I love it.
