Peugeot 308 SW (2014 - 2021) GT 2.0 BlueHDi 180 S&S EAT8 auto (07/17 on) 5d Owner Review

My first diesel which I purchased specifically for a round trip of 200 miles performed two/three times a month to visit family. Also my first Peugeot, I have previously purchased Japanese cars. It has proved solid (no rattles), comfortable, smooth and quiet. The eight speed automatic gearbox is very linear, gear changes are nearly imperceptible. I don’t use the sport mode, preferring ‘normal’ and the excellent fuel economy. It can feel a little slow off the mark but once it has engaged 2nd gear it pulls like a train; the engine has great torque. My only negative would be if you regularly need to fit and remove child seats which use a tether attachment. The anchor points for the tether are under the boot floor mat and difficult to get to. Fortunately, they are only an occasional fit for me and my son in law performs the task - but even he finds it tricky!
So, great car, I would recommend, particularly if you require an estate.
