Peugeot 405 Estate 1.8 GTD Turbo 5d (1989/F) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
One major expenditure - a clutch at 190,000 miles!
Costs
Dealers expensive. Parts plentiful at independants.
-
On the road
Driving
Smooth cruising on motorways. Agile elsewhere.
Performance
Will go if pushed, otherwise docile motoring.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Engine superb if serviced. Consumables expire with age. Nine years of ownership and 220,000 miles says a lot! Change the oil every 4-5k and it just keeps going.
Image
Top of the range in its day, but fading now. Still looks good when washed!
Comfort
Seats still supportive. Loads of room in the back and boot. Superb heater.

Security and Service
Security
Central locking only.
