Peugeot 405 Saloon 1.9 TD Executive 4d (1995/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Excellent value considering the toys on offer.
Costs
Cheap to insure and good on the fuel. Car tax is in the highest cost braket, else would have scored 5.
-
On the road
Driving
Very comfortable drive. Best at higher range i.e. on motorways or at cruising speed.
Performance
Bit slow of the mark, but once into third gear can pick up quickly.

Living with it
Reliability
Not too many expensive problems. Some electrics seem a bit flaky - ABS sensor, water in fuel sensor and fuel guage.
Image
Still looks good. Exec model has alloys and leather interior. A bit boxy in shape, but has its own appeal.
Comfort
Can't complain. Leather seats are extremely comfortable and plenty of room in the back for the kids. Air con needs to be colder when the weather is hot, but this is the UK so not a major issue.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser present on this car. Alarm can be a bit sensitive and trigger without reason.
