Peugeot 405 Saloon 2.0i GTX 4d Auto (1994/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A good family workhorse for the money.
Costs
Ver good - parts relatively cheap and average 32mpg (but not much city traffic usage).
-
On the road
Driving
Excellent for a small saloon.
Performance
Adequate performance for a four cylinder if you don't need excitement. Auto box hangs onto 4th slightly too long - I usually drop to 3rd manually if in a hurry.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Can't think of anything worth mentioning in my six years.
Image
Pleasant but bland - the standard GTX airdam and alloys help image.
Comfort
Good seats. Very pliant suspension. Not too noisy.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser standard on '94 GTX. Both front locks were recently screwdrivered but they did not get in - I replaced the locks quite easily at £29 each.
Service
Do not use main dealers.

Problems and Ownership
