Economy
Value
Overall package provides good value for money with enormous boot space.
Costs
Provided the family with a good workhorse. Very reliable, although Peugeot seem to have an ongoing problem with their brakes (particularly handbrake).

On the road
Driving
Very good drive, although now feels a little sluggish against other diesel cars. Good motorway car.
Performance
Don't expect sports performance, but if buying for ecomony - can achieve well into 50mpg if driven carefully.

Living with it
Reliability
Apart from the braking problems noted, the car is reacing 50k miles and remains as good as new!
Image
The new 407 will knock the 406, but for a good family car or estate will remain a good buy for many years.
Comfort
A very comfortable and enjoyable drive - again well suited to the open road.

Security and Service
Security
Have experienced no problems.
Service
For me, main dealers for nearly all cars do not have it - I lack confidence with their ability to spend quality time with my car. I was obliged to use them for the first two services (under warranty). I now use a local garage - better service and price!
