Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,995
When did you buy the car?
December 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
They gave us £6,495 for our 2002 307 SW (HDi 110 SE 7 seats, 47,000 miles) and then went and sold it for £1,500 more, so NO!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
We had two of these before we made the major mistake of buying a 307 SW. We missed the relability and comfort of this model as soon as we bought the 307 SW so, when we found this car in the colour we had always wanted (Samarkand Blue), we had to go for it. We haven't regreted it atall - 13 months and nothing gone wrong yet!
What was the dealer like?
Appart from the deal, Corby Motors Peugeot, Kettering were execellent - they brought the car all they way from Kettering to Exeter at no extra charge.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
If you’re looking to buy one of these then definitely go for the 110bhp HDi (Diesel) engine - plenty of torque and power and amazing MPG for a car this size (50+ MPG). The other engines all have something wrong with them; the 1.8 petrol is sluggish, the 2.0 petrol is thirsty, the 2.2 HDi is very unreliable, the 3.0 V6 drinks like a fish and the HDi 90bhp is very slow - especially up hills fully laden, although this engine will achieve good MPG as well. The 5 speed manual gearbox fits perfectly with the HDi 110 engine and is a joy to drive. It will quite happily cruise at 80/90 mph on the motorway with hardly any noise. The engine also can provide power when you need it but still achieving great MPG. Unlike the petrol models…
What's it like to park?
With the rear head rests in, parking can be quite difficult if you are small. I recommend buying rear parking sensors that fix to the number plate to protect your car!
