What does this car say about you?
Not a lot - the 406's looks do grow on you - it's quite individual compared with its rival euro saloon clones. French / Italian flare, understated. Looks good in silver, not so keen on any other colours in the range
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Functional, crisp and clean looking. LX model doesn't have a CD player however - choose one that does if youre going to buy one. Otherwise Air con , leccy windows etc all very nice.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Would probably opt for the diesel version, although the 1.8 petrol isn't too thirsty.
What are you likely to buy next?
Realistically a Mondeo or Vectra diesel may look at '05 reg 406 diesel too.But alas 406's arent the fastest

Cheap to buy - very low mileage. Dealer overall very helpful
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I was told that the Pug 406 was a credible alternative to a Ford Mondeo / Vauxhall Vectra / Renault Laguna. Comfortable, stylish looks, not the most attractice of cars, but less anonymous than japanese clones and other euro saloons

What's it like to drive?
Excellent car to drive - if you have never test driven one I urge you to do so - you will be pleasantly suprised. Big comfortable car, excellent ride. Consider GLX trim or higher as they get more comfy seats. 1.8 engine is willing but a little sluggish. That said a little bit of handywork with the gearlever does make the car respond with some degree of urgency. Some road and engine noise but nothing unbearable - pretty average - younger models are much better.

Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing much - generally been very reliable - heater / air con blower has broken down - need to investigate further
