Summary
What does this car say about you?
I want a nicely styled saloon car but I don't want a German box.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends thought it was comfortable, family thought it was reasonable and a nice colour (KMWC Monaco Blue), neighbours didn't rate it as it wasn't German and some of the neighbours friends tried to get into it one night, thinking it was a minicab!
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, too many issues.
What are you likely to buy next?
I bought a Japanese car which has proved a bit more reliable.

£1,400

February 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Thought I got a good dealer.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a larger and more reliable car than the GTV it was replacing.
What was the dealer like?
Bit of a del-boy private seller.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Was a bit of a pain in town because the engine mount meant it lurched in 1st gear. The garage could find nothing wrong. When up to speed, it was quite a good cruiser on motorways, and had uncanny handling for a big saloon car with otherwise comfortable suspension!
What's it like to park?
Not exactly a smart car, but then not as big as new Mondeos or Qashqows.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The COM2000 unit needed replacing as the indicator stalk took a liking to showing left. (£300 + fitting) The engine mounts wore, tore though the flexi-pipe (flexi+cat £300), garage said they couldn't find anything wrong with the mounts, but it lurched forward in 1st gear, making town driving a nightmare. Badly rusting nearside doors, for an 8 year old modern car was surprising!
What's most practical about your car?
Big boot with folding seats
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Automatic wipers. Made driving through on-off rain that we get constantly during summer time a bit easier.
