Summary
What does this car say about you?
If you watch Top Gear, or live in the south of England, I am an idiot for driving something French, especially a Peugeot. Other than that most people don't know what it is so it says nothing about me, which I like.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Nothing, they are not petrol heads, apart from thinking it cost more than it did.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, sadly they stopped making it, but as they are rare they will hit rock bottom price then bounce. I may buy some more.
What are you likely to buy next?
I fancy building an MGB GT V8, but I need to save a bit harder first. Other than that I'm happy with my little fleet and have no plans to change any of them.

Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,400

Did you get a good deal and why?
Great deal. Car was exactly as described and bought sight unseen over the web, just like most of cars I've bought in the past.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Seemed pretty cheap and my wife wanted a black car with some style to replace her Alfa 156.
What was the dealer like?
Friendly and helpful, genuinely helpful and is a bit of an enthusiast.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I've owned 60 cars have of which have been sports and performance cars. This is the best GT car I have ever had. It isn't that fast off the line but mid range is superb and it will sit at 120 all day on the autobahn. Suspension is fabulous, compliant yet tenacious in grip to the point where I feel a bit sick! Mine has a new set of Avon tyres which were expensive but really do the job, combined with Bosch disks all round and green stuff pads it stops really well. it could take more power and I would love to drive one with forced induction so I might try turbocharging it.
What's it like to park?
Simple compared to the big Citroens, hard compared to my 1972 MG Midget, but it has proximity warning so no excuses.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Boot locking mechanism stopped working due to frayed wires. Fixed myself with a soldering iron for nothing. The bodywork has galvanised panels and at nearly ten years old the car is solid as a rock underneath.
What's most practical about your car?
Fold down seats means you actually have a big load area and it carries four adults in great comfort. It has more rear leg room than my Citroen C5. Performance is adequate rather than sparkling but with lower tax than the V6 version and 35 mpg average it is economical to run (petrol is cheaper and there is less to go wrong).
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
JBL stereo is incredible, worth the £2k entry price alone. I also like the suspension - that chassis can easily handle more power so I may make a few modifications.
