Peugeot 407 Coupe (2006 - 2010) 2.2 SE 2d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I loved this car when I first got it perhaps I've just been unlucky but all 407s seem to be dogged with electrical problems and all the parts are expensive including the road tax but when it drives fine I still love her and just hope the dashboard lights remain off for a little while at least.Ive now done over136,000 miles so I've seen most problems the car has to offer I've often thought about changing but having gone through and replaced most stuff on the car I'm reluctant about buying someone else's problems so while she maybe temperamental and getting old I hope that there is not much more that will need replacing in the future bar the engine itself perhaps.
How reliable do you find the car?
I bought the car with 22,000 miles on the clock and after about 40,000 miles the problems began.Lots of niggly electric faults which seem to be hard to track down, the heater stopped working as well as the parking sensors.I've had multiple abs sensors fitted, had to replace the gearbox and clutch,I've done the timing belt water pump had new glass fitted on the driver's side also I've a battery drain that I've given up on no one can seem to find it after several attempts as long as I don't move the the electric passenger seat that no longer works properly or open the glove compartment i don't wake up in the morning with a flat battery.Ive had 3 new batteries fitted in an attempt to fix this problem. The temperature guages no longer work after being replaced the boot release mechanism broke that's been replaced but the lights inside now no longer work. I've had overheat issues replaced a cooling fan that's an expensive item ( over 300 for the part alone ) in fact I've had problems that I've proably forgotten about but unfortunately all these problems cost money.About their car
