Summary
What does this car say about you?
Personally i've always found the car too swish for me - it's a typical salesman's or company car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I've had a few comments about how posh it is or how nice to be a passenger in.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No I wouldn't. It is expensive to tax and very expensive on fuel. Also despite being a top-end peugeot, many of the instruments feel cheep and plasticy, and I've never felt like the car suited me.
What are you likely to buy next?
I'm getting a Fiesta for me and my wife and a Triumph ST 1050 bike for myself. Perhaps it's been so tedious owning this 407 that I am reverting to biking to give me some fun.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,750
When did you buy the car?
March 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Perhaps - It was a very low milage car - 21,000 on the clock when I bought it. And certainly got a lot of car for the money.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I chose this car because I was after something that could take a carful of people comfortably and eat up all the motorway miles that I do.
What was the dealer like?
Awful - typical blagger.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great on motorways, fairly quick too. Generally great - gear change can be a bit loose, and steering as mentioned has been an issue. But when it's going well it's an absolute pleasure to drive.
What's it like to park?
This is a big car - but easy to park as the steering (when fully functioning) is light and the visibility is great.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes! Steering has been a constant pain. It goes stiff after 10,000 miles or so. Had a major service at a peugeot main dealer who looked at the issue and since had Halfords look at it and both are unable to fix it.
What's most practical about your car?
The size, the comfort, the quiteness, motorway drive.
