In their own words
My previous car was it's predecessor, the Peugeot 406, which I bought at 3 years old and I kept it running for 15 years. When looking for a replacement I was attracted to this car due to its similarity to the one that had served me so well, although I initially visited the garage to look at another car altogether. The car was slightly older and cheaper than the Skoda I'd gone to see and when I took it for a test drive it felt a bit like putting on a comfy pair of old shoes so I bought it. It was older than the car I'd intended to look at but seemed in very good order for its age. Maintenance costs have been significant as I owned it when it needed the timing belt replacing and I had the clutch replaced at the same time, but it has been very reliable in all other ways. I currently drive very little because of the lockdown as well as my recent retirement, but apart from a few battery problems in the cold weather it remains totally reliable.
