Summary
What does this car say about you?
My wife says solid, reliable and safe. I like to think a little classy and alternative (not that many about).
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They say it looks nice and it was a good bargain.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, but would probably go for the top spec model with different suspension set up. I would not go for smaller diesel or the EGC automatic despite tempting prices. Also looked at Citroen DS5 which looks more dramatic.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another Peugeot 508, Citroen DS5, Skoda Superb - something biggish, diesel, cruiser, well specked.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£13,400
When did you buy the car?
March 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. Got an immediate reduction of £500, an above average trade in on my 9 year old Ford Focus, a years's tax (only £30) and a full tank of fuel worth £100.. Ended up paying 12,200.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Long distance commuting, size and fuel economy.
What was the dealer like?
Quick to strike a deal. Sensed I was there to buy. I said I had come to see a specific car and was in a position to buy. Only issue was that I was told it was an ex Peugeot car and it turned out to be an ex hire car.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Effortlessly smooth in long motorway runs. It will average 55mpg with little effort and 62 using the cruise control with no variation in speed (if you get my meaning). A bit nose heavy on twisty roads, though holds the road well and can take bends on/off motorways with some speed.
What's it like to park?
Fine reversing as it has sensors, but no sensors at front as standard spec on 25K car seems a little stingy. It's a long car, though not had any incidents.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Have done 7.5K in 5 months. Nothing serious has gone wrong, though the sat nav froze once on a long journey. Mechanically has been faultless so far.
What's most practical about your car?
Size. Plenty of space for me at 1.94m and there occupants in the rear with sufficient legroom.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Bluetooth for phone calls though not always a clear signal. Not sure if this is phone or the car.
