Summary
What does this car say about you?
I have too many children. I can afford a lot of petrol.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I've no idea! Children love the electric doors and central instruments.
Would you buy this car again and why?
This model is dating fast compared with, say, the new Ford Galaxy with rearmost seats that fold away rather than having to be removed, so probably no.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another large MPV, a diesel automatic next time.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
July 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
I never feel like you get a good deal from a main dealer; but this car was a year old and, although it had done quite high mileage in that year, was immaculate.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
We needed 7 seats for general use, and 5 plus room for a mountain of luggage for holidays!
What was the dealer like?
Friendly and helpful - but then, he wanted my money ....

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Goes surprisingly well. I should say we are in Holland and have a model not listed in the UK, a 3.0 V6 petrol auto. It chews fuel but will sit fully laden at 80 mph right across Europe.
What's it like to park?
Easy. Rear parking sensors are a boon and visibility is good.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A few things. We had a "pollution control fault" twice, which turned out to mean the coils on each plug had failed. Also the mechanism that holds the spare wheel in place failed. Light bulbs blow frequently and are very hard to replace unless you have rubber arms and double jointed fingers. Front tyres wear rapidly.
What's most practical about your car?
The interior layout and adaptability. It is huge inside and will carry unfeasibly large amounts of stuff
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The electric sliding side doors are fantastic with kids.
