Peugeot e-308 verdict
Should you buy one?
Although it does a few things well, the E-308 is just too expensive to recommend. Cheaper rivals offer similar or more range, whilst similarly priced ones (Astra Electric excluded) can go far farther on a charge and are more spacious, too.
If you’ve got around £40k to spend, the Volkswagen ID.3 is a much better package that’ll do almost 300 miles in the real world without too much stress. There’s also the temptation of a Tesla Model 3 which also has a longer range and is far faster. Ultimately, those after an electric hatch are best served by the bargain MG4 EV.
What we like
We love the inviting interior ambiance while the ride comfort is better than most rivals. Equipment levels aren’t bad, efficiency impresses and there’s an estate version.
What we don’t like
Given what it costs, the E-308 is too slow, has too short a range and isn’t spacious enough.
