Peugeot e-Traveller MPV verdict
Should you buy one?
if you’re in the market for an electric van-based MPV then the answer is a qualified yes. With a real-world range of around 100 miles it feels far too compromised unless you’re rarely leaving the city and using it for regular short hops. Otherwise its puny 50kWh battery pack doesn’t store enough juice to make it a viable vehicle for families who venture further afield.
Peugeot has the solutuion up its sleeve, though. If the larger 75kWh battery from the van version was available, it would be far easier to recommend the e-Traveller, but as it is, a diesel-engined model would make much more sense. And that is a shame, because the e-Traveller does have a lot to recommend it, not least its smooth, silent drive and easy-to-drive nature.
For now though, the Mercedes-Benz EQV, with a near-200 mile range and luxurious interior is the one to go for, even if it does cost considerably more than the Peugeot.
