Gets four airbags and a strong structure, but bizarrely traction control is standard only on the four-wheel-drive version which obviously makes it considerably safer. Pop-up roll hoops deploy in emergency situations. Gets alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks.

There’s a reasonable amount of luggage space in the nose but nothing in the back except for limited space behind the seats so you’ll have to travel light.
