Summary
What does this car say about you?
Depends who's looking: Some may think you are a real driver who loves performance and wants an understated, fast car. Others may think you are a prat. You won't care when you put your foot down.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most love it when they see it. Some are in the "I don't like Porsches" brigade. Then I take them for a spin...
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would, but am more likely to get a later model.
What are you likely to buy next?
I would probably look at a 997 turbo next or a 997.2 GT3/RS. Maybe an R8. GTR too expensive to run but great to drive.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£38,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
I paid top price for a top car. If you want a bargain, buy a hatchback. This is 'fully loaded' with short-shift, cruise, heated seats, aluminium pack. etc. etc.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Performance combined with heritage, reliability and useability. Personally, I love cars which are fit for purpose - something with huge ability that doesn't break and isn't high-maintenance. Forget Ferraris or Lambos if you agree.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Ballistic. This is an X50 with DMS custom remap giving 530 bhp and 530 lb/ft torque. Very little comes vaguely close. Motorbike acceleration and 200 mph.
What's it like to park?
Easy enough - just watch those wide haunches in the mirrors when you reverse and the long overhang front and rear on kerbs.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing to date. Car is sensitive to suspension geometry and has needed a couple of adjustments. Otherwise, rock solid.
What's most practical about your car?
Not practical really although there is room in the back for medium sized adults/children for short trips. 23-29 mpg is pretty impressive for the power - try getting that out of an F430.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Power upgrade.
