Porsche 911 Targa Carrera Super Sport 2d (1989/G) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A supercar for the price of a new Ford Focus - what could better that?
Costs
£1000 for a rear trailing arm! £750 for a new clutch! You'd better have plenty money in the bank or you'll end up selling your left kidney to some guy named 'Dr Ricardo' from Guetemala.

On the road
Driving
Porsche 911 driving equation :- Wet roads + bad bends x high speed = upside down in a hedgerow.
Performance
Ok, so there are a lot of cars nowadays that can leave the old porker standing, but if I wanted a wide wheeled, quadruple turbo charged nitrous oxide 16v injected engine strapped to skateboard, I'd buy one.

Living with it
Reliability
Has never failed me once (unlike words).
Image
Porsche 911 seen as either - a/. A tosspot with too much money. b/. A tosser obsessed with speed. c/. A driving connoisseur.
Comfort
The front seats are fantastic leather Recaros - the back seats - well let's just say I have a 3 year old boy whose growth is being stunted on any journey over 20 minutes.

Security and Service
Security
Comes fitted with a Porsche alarm system which is about as secure as a wet donkey jacket hung on blob of blu-tac. You're insurance company will want you to fit a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser, tracker, rottwieler strapped to bumper etc etc.
Service
Went to my local Porsche dealer and thought a lot of snooty nosed 20 somethings would ignore me - but shock, horror, they were great guys!
