Porsche 944 Coupe Lux FH 2d (1988/F) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Actually I feel a hell of a lot for the money, however buy the very best you can afford, There is no such thing as a cheap Porsche, a cheap one WILL be more expensive down the line.
Costs
Day to day running costs are not bad, reasonable mileage and insurance. However, when they go wrong, WOW! Something can be expensive, however mine was bought as a restoration, which is now complete!

On the road
Driving
A fantastic drive, sublime handling, responsive engine with good torque throughout the rev range, Does not feel like a near on 20 year old car at all. Commands respect in the wet though.
Performance
Powerful, responsive in any gear, and fantastic feel of the road, you can feel what each wheel is doing, and how far you can push it around corners, however can be hairy on hard acceleration in the wet. Not a 0-60 sprinter, but fun and loves bendy roads.

Living with it
Reliability
Starts every time, although because of the age many things have been replaced or rebuilt, however mine has now done 130k.
Image
A total head turner, people who say it is a "poor mans Porsche" often have never owned a Porsche!
Comfort
Not bad, however you can "sink" into the seats over a long period of time, rear seats are useless!

Security and Service
Security
A Cat 1 Alarm is a total must.
Service
I go to an independent specialist.
