Summary
What does this car say about you?
Who cares?
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I think they like it but it's not news these days. We've had it 9 years now.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Definitely. A great car and once you have experienced this level of excellence there is no going back. The servicing is very reasonable. I have used JCT at Leeds, the supplying dealer, Strasse at Leeds, a great independant and now use Millbrooke in Sheffield where I live. Millbrooke are spot on and the car really runs well.
What are you likely to buy next?
Definitely another Boxster. Must be silver, prefer 3.4S, must have leather and sports interior. I only have 2 minor gripes. One is the plastic back window which needs folding when you lower the roof to prevent the plastic cracking and the other is no A/C. Porsche have remedied both problems on later models.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£26,000
When did you buy the car?
April 2002
Did you get a good deal and why?
Not too bad really. It was a lot of money but the car was well specced and perfect with full MDSH. To this end, it has been a wise investment.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I fancied TT at the time but for TT money you could get a Porsche. The rest is history as they say...
What was the dealer like?
I have been back to the suppying dealer for service and they are very good, or were in 2002-4 when I used them last. A very pleasant experience.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Amazing. Even after 9 years and 42K I still love the thing. Could be a bit faster but the chassis and brakes are out of this world. Does 30 MPG as well.
What's it like to park?
Okay. I'm really careful with this kind of thing. You know, long walk to the supermarket doors, that sort of thing.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A few very minor issues. The O2 sensors failed at 4 years old and I have had about 4 coils on it (it has one per cylinder). Other than this, just routine maintenace. I had the brake discs and pads at 50k, and it's on its 3rd set of tyres at 59K. Stick to the Michelin OEM N (1,2 or 3) rated tyres and you will not go wrong.
What's most practical about your car?
Great seats means long distance is a pleasure. Great luggage space as well.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
None really. Just love absoloutly everything about it.
