Summary
What does this car say about you?
To people who know me it says I love driving and I have immaculate taste. It also says it is a way better idea than spending the same money on a new Mondeo...
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
My family & friends think I am having a mid-life crisis, my kids and their friends think it is totally cool. Mostly they all just want a drive in it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes and I will in a couple of years time. As the independent Porsche dealer who I bought some upgrade parts from said, "once you've driven a Porsche you can't go back to a normal car"
What are you likely to buy next?
I might go for the 3.2S with even more poke.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,500
When did you buy the car?
June 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got a great deal trading in my BMW as the dealer had a buyer who wanted my exact model and colour. I was able to offer on the Porsche.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
After years of driving BMW, Mercedes and other saloons, I finally got my hands on the car I always wanted after my son passed his test and I no longer need a 4-seater. I am not having a mid-life crisis!
What was the dealer like?
This dealer has sold quite a few Boxsters and was very helpful and accommodating

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
On the motorway it makes me feel like I could be James May and on the B-roads I feel like the Stig going round the Nurburgring. It handles better than any other car I have ever driven, fantastic.
What's it like to park?
Rear visibility isn't brilliant due to the roll bar and long rear boot, but you get used to it. You can fit sensors if you are really worried.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No - nothing. It has a full history with all the bills
What's most practical about your car?
On the motorway it can feel like a big saloon (quiet for a soft top) with loads of boot space for a sports car (I have owned an MGTF and an MX5 before and they don't match it on space)
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Got to be the automatic spoiler which raises at 70mph - just a shame you can't see it! Mine is black with terracotta leather interior - quite bright! but soon got used to it. I upgraded the lights to clear lenses and added a new boot badge, from a very helpful dealer who (as they all are) was passionate about Porsche.
