Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I either can't afford a 911 or I'm a showoff. Or maybe...just maybe... it says I like cars and driving - and this is a great car for doing just that!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They love it. Friends (and friends of friends!) want to go for a ride in it, which is quite novel. On a sunny day with the roof down everyone smiles when they're in it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
yes, despite its endless reliability problems its a fantastic drive and for the money they cost now, there isn't anything better.
What are you likely to buy next?
Alpha GT, Maserati, Cayman or another Boxster I think.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£18,500
When did you buy the car?
September 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted a convertible roadster to take me out of my 20s and this is the best for the money!
What was the dealer like?
Main dealer used for servicing, and they are spot on. Car comes out valeted, and your treated like your the most important person in the room. When the car was brought round from service, the service man got out and wiped the door handle with a cloth before handing me the keys. Nice touch! For maintenence work I use an independant as they are around 30-50% cheaper than the main dealer.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic, so much fun. Needs respect in the wet or it WILL spin, but in the dry you can hoon along all day - you'll see other Boxster owners wizzing in the opposite direction with a similarly stupid grin on their face as you. Such great fun to drive.
What's it like to park?
Its OK, but you can't see the rear as it slopes from view, so its best-guess using the side mirrors. Once your used to the dimentions its very easy as its not a big car.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes, loads. New Radiators and air condensors (common fault), £1000. New rear screen, as the old one cracked £250, faulty electrical circuit £700, new MAF sensor £350, Replacement alarm key £70, the list goes on...!
What's most practical about your car?
Its got 2 boots, and can swallow a lot more than people expect.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
SmartTop relay - allows the roof to be raised/lowered at up to 30mph, and the hard-top gives the car a different look for the winter.
