Early Boxsters had 2.5-litre flat sixes, this was later enlarged to a 2.7 which offere just about enough performance. The 3.2-litre S version is more potent and better for it and almost makes a 911 seem expensive.
Fantastically resolved handling and balance thanks to a mid-engined layout. Ride quality is also very compliant and will retain composure on all but the worst roads. Steering is light but full of feedback. Wonderful.
