In their own words

The new, as it was then, came with high expectations, however the raft of initial problems could put you off Porsche for life. The first main problem was the engine, aluminium coated with either licoseal or nicoseal. This wore off at about 65-75000 miles, so new engine required. This was NOT a Porsche problem, so I was told but a move to a performance enhance version with a better seal in the engine. Cost approx £13,500. Then the first of 4 prop shaft changes over the years due to, component failure. Again not a Porsche problem !!!
Lights started to go out when slowing or heavy breaking, this was due to the connection push in connector. Plastic clips failed and light departed the car. New lights fitted and handyman fix to stop them falling out. This is the most frustrating fault.
Water ingress through blocked drainage channels, this can result in water sloshing around in the car seal, until the drain is cleaned out. Garage visit required.
All in all the drive is fantastic, all be it expensive as heavy on fuel. 20-24 MPG
