Summary
What does this car say about you?
A little ostentatious perhaps? I bought it for me though, not someone else. A great drivers car and I love the colour!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They think its great, quite a talking point sometimes.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. I'm 6'4" and the driving position is perfect. It has all the options I want, its a new model, a good to drive, great handling, fabulous engine sound - and in the colour I wanted. It has an electronic gizmo spoiler and lovely comfortable seats. What more can you ask for in a sports car?!
What are you likely to buy next?
Undecided, I think this one might be a keeper. Wouldn't mind a Ferrari at some point though - if I'm lucky!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£29,000
When did you buy the car?
September 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Not bad for a main dealer. Managed to get a discount too, which is rare for Porsche. Probably wasn't such a good deal now though with the recession hammering values!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Fancied a coupe, after 3 fabulous years of a Boxster. I love the look of the Cayman, and the every-day Porsche experience.
What was the dealer like?
Excellent, as expected. Very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Collecting the car was a great experience. I also received a phone call a few days after purchase to make sure I was happy with everything.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Sublime. I opted for the 2.7 which I found fast enough for me, and allows you to use the gears a lot when driving on the country roads. Engine/exhaust note is fantastic. Turns lots of heads. Great sound system (Bose) for when your just wanting to relax and cruise along the motorway. Can't help but smile every time I grab the keys.
What's it like to park?
A bit tricky as you can't see the rear making reverse parking a best-guess manoeuvre.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No, but its not very old so I wouldn't expect it to. It is much better built than the 986 Boxster. 'Feels' more reliable, although time will tell and I'll update here if anything breaks. Note that they dont like bad weather. Even in slight ice/snow it just slides everywhere so caution needed!
What's most practical about your car?
2 boots, can get loads in.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control. I've always wanted it, and this is the first car I've owned to have it.
