The 2.7L engine is surprisingly rapid but not so powerful that you can't use all of the rev range and benefit from the wail of the flat 6. The design of the 981 still looks modern 8 years on and most people think its much newer as its on private plates. There's easily enough luggage space for 3 or 4 small suitcases so its great for a blast around UK or Europe if you fancy going further afield. Insurance on the 2.7L is also surprisingly cheap, and at 70mph it will return 40mpg. I've owned it for 8 years now and it still makes me smile when I walk up to it.
How reliable do you find the car?
At about 2 years old, one of the ignition coils failed but it took the Porsche centre a while to diagnose and correct the problem. Otherwise no issues at allDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
During winter months I run the car on winter tyres so its on the road the whole year.About their car
