Should you buy one?

Absolutely. The Sport Turismo feels just as dynamic as the four-door while offering the load capacity and practicality of the Cross Turismo. Yes, the Cross Turismo is a comfier companion and has a little bit of off-road ability, but it just doesn’t handle as sharply, and that’s why we rate it so highly.

Whichever Taycan you pick, you’ll have a high-quality interior with easy-to-use infotainment and rapid charging capabilities. Its range isn’t as great as some rivals such as the Tesla Model S and Ford Mustang Mach-E, but the optional higher capacity battery will give most versions a range of more than 300 miles.

What we like

It’s the most involving and fun electric car to drive and a relaxed cruiser when you’re not in the mood for thrills. While boot space is still well behind a traditional estate car or an SUV, it’s still a decent size even without the rear seats folded.

We also appreciate the hatchback access over the regular Taycan’s conventional bootlid, making it possible to load far larger items, and the improved head room, especially for rear seat passengers. The Cross Turismo also offers this, but with a higher-riding and softer sprung driving experience

What we don’t like

No Sport Turismo comes cheap, especially if you pick one of the faster versions. Its electric range isn’t as long as some rivals such as the Tesla Model S and it’s not as spacious inside, either. It’s also very easy to add tens of thousands to the list price with Porsche’s extensive options list.
