Proton GEN-2 Saloon (2008-2012) boot space, practicality and safety

(change model)
The GEN-2 range hasn’t been crash tested by Euro NCAP. But all models have driver and passenger airbags, an anti-lock braking system, crumple zones, side impact bars and rollover protection. Security is taken care of by an alarm, immobiliser and remote central locking.
Although the boot is slightly smaller in the saloon than the hatchback, it’s plenty large enough for most family’s needs, even if the high sill makes loading heavy items a little difficult. For increased capacity, the rear seats can be split and folded down. The interior lacks a glovebox, but the centre console, complete with a useful armrest, is good for storing CDs and valuables.
