Pros & cons
PROS
Neat styling, six-year mechanical warranty, reasonable economy
CONS
Poor quality and dated interior, cramped driving position, dull to drive, lacklustre performance
Proton Satria Neo (07-12) rivals
Overview
The Satria Neo is a decent-value small hatchback with good levels of equipment and neat styling. Lotus (which is owned by Proton) had a hand in the design and also the handling, but it’s best to ignore the Lotus badge on the bootlid as the Satria Neo is very disappointing. It’s cramped inside, unrefined and poor to drive. Worse still is the awful interior and scratchy plastics which only reinforce the cheap, low-quality feel.
On the plus side it’s fairly comfortable on the move with a decent ride but there’s little to recommend the Satria Neo.
