Renault 19 Hatchback 1.9 Be Bop D 5d (1995/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Costs
Main dealer parts are expensive, but there are enough second hand, strip downs, to make running costs manageable
-
On the road
Driving
Typical French nippiness, better than Escort/ Astra equivilants, can be a bit loose on the front end in wet conditions, but predictable. Non power assisted steering is heavy work at parking speeds
Performance
Surprisingly quick for a 1400cc,copes with motorway speeds with a bit to spare
-
Living with it
Reliability
Just keeps going, the only thing i've had to replace was the engine temperature sensor to sort out a cold start problem (took 30mins)
Image
The be bop is a girly car according to my lad, but he'll still take it off my hands
Comfort
Having got used to soft seating the suspension deals with most road conditions. No aches or pains after a 250mile blitz to cornwall

Security and Service
Security
Tempting fate with no attacks on the car, but then again there's nothing to steal
