Renault 21 Estate 2.0 GTX Cat 5d (1992/K) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap to buy - big car, massive boot.
Costs
Bit thirsty (average 28/9mpg). Parts not bad.
-
On the road
Driving
Soft and rolly, but surprisingly nimble if bravely driven. Good motorway cruiser. Handling improves when car is heavily laden.
Performance
For a heavy car, 130bhp feels pretty quick.

Living with it
Reliability
Alternator problems fixed. Otherwise very good. Replaced shocks and tailgate struts. Otherwise... fine.
Image
Best looking 21, but still not really an oil painting.
Comfort
Driver's seat worn and not comfy. Everywhere else good, especially passenger seat. Driving position fairly adjustable. Good for long legs in the front and long journeys.

Security and Service
Security
Key-operated immobiliser, but would anyone want to pinch it?
Service
N/A, except for odd parts.
