    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not bad. Bit on the expensive side at the time - before used car prices dropped.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Costs seem good. Average service is £100.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not too good for motorway use. Ride can get very juddery. Great for town use and journeys where 70 MPH isn't needed.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not bad for a 1171cc engine, but it all depends on how you drive it. For overtaking, 5th/4th gear aren't enough and you often need to drop down into 3rd. Can cruise at 80 MPH happily without judder.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Had this car 2 years and very little has gone wrong. Had a problem with the rear brake drums, where the shoes fell off and jammed meaning an AA tow truck.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Stick some alloys on it and the standard image is greatly improved. Mostly driven by young drivers as a first car.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Front of the car is just fine. Maybe a problem for 6 footers though. Rear legroom is virtually non-existant unless the driver and passenger have short legs and don't need the seat too far back!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

This model didn't have any security as standard. An after market gear lock had been fitted. I also use a steering lock.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Overall a nice little car with low servicing costs, even at Renault dealers!
