Renault Clio 1.2 RN Provence 3d (1998/R) Owner Review

Economy
Value
This has been a cheap car to run
Costs
Cheap to run and replace parts, easy to fix if something goes wrong. I recently put new discs and pads on the front for £50, Renault would have charged £160 for that!

On the road
Driving
Not bad for a 1.2 engine, comfortable car
Performance
Not bad for a 1.2 engine, have to do a bit of planning ahead on the motorway
-
Living with it
Reliability
Few problems, earth cable snapped was the last fault, new front discs, wheel bearings and suspension at the front, but then it has done nearly 90k
Image
Give it a wash and a polish and it still looks good
Comfort
Seats could be a bit more supportive for a longer journey

Security and Service
Security
Someone tried to break in the drivers door once in Spain, but didn't manage it, so it passes
Service
Renault servicing can be a bit hit and miss. some servicing was good and other was bad. The last time it was serviced at a Renault workshop they forgot to tighten the oil drain plug at the bottom of the engine and it nearly ran out of oil!
