What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 33 - 51 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Economy is generally good across the range although the 1.2 petrol and 1.9 diesel are the most frugal. Parts are not particularly cheap, especially on high performance versions which can become costly if driven hard.
Later cars are best, although well-kept early models shouldn’t give big problems. Service history is important as some DIY work is awkward to carry out. Hard driving and inattentive servicing will see reliability and condition plummet.
