Renault Clio Hatchback (1991-1998) boot space, practicality and safety

Scored an unexceptional two stars in the Euro NCAP test, so certainly doesn’t have the safety credentials of modern Renaults. Only the Williams had ABS as standard, whilst a driver’s airbag was fitted from ’96 onwards with passenger airbags optional. Immobiliser fitted to most, top models get alarm too.
Boot space isn’t bad, although there are roomier alternatives. Space can always be increased through lowering the rear seatbacks.
