Renault Clio 1.2 Grande 3d (00) (2001/Y) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Excellent spec as standard for the price.
Costs
Servicing seems expensive. £140 for a new oil filter, oil at £8 per litre and some 'checks'. Could have done it all myself with the same parts for £30.

On the road
Driving
Am 6'1" tall and fit in easily, but trying to sit in the back seats is dreadful (I get neck ache from craning over to the side!!)
Performance
Obviously when you buy a 1.2 litre car, it's not for performance, but it seems to hold its own against Saxos and 106s.

Living with it
Reliability
My car has been back to the dealers more times than I can remember.
Image
Cuter looking than its rivals, but the rear is not to everybody's taste!
Comfort
Very comfortable to drive on long distances, unless you're in the back!

Security and Service
Security
Has immobiliser and RAID, but no alarm. It hasn't been stolen yet!
Service
Some amusing arguments with ill-informed staff over warranty issues. No, correction, many amusing arguments.
