Economy
Value
No bad for the setup you get on the Dynamique - but unaccepatble faults let the car down.
Costs
Fuel efficient - averages out at about 45mpg for combined urban/ non urban consumption. Have hired the 1.4 16v Expression and this is a lot lot thirstier for not a lot more power.

On the road
Driving
Very responsive steering. Speed responsive power steering makes moterway driving and parking a breeze. Corners very well with sports suspension set up, but at the same gives a bumpy ride.
Performance
It's only a 1.2 so not a sportscar. Acceleration is better than you might expect for an engine this size.

Living with it
Reliability
Within 6 months, wouldn't start when engine was warm. Stalls on idle in traffic.
Image
I think it looks pretty good - but that's my opinion.
Comfort
Very comfortable sports seats.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser as standard.
Service
The are problems with the Clio that just can't be solved no matter how many times you take it back to the dealer (see below).

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Wouldn't start when the engine was warm, stalls when idle in traffic. The starting problem was sorted by Renault - the idling problem is not sorted.
Other
Rattle, rattle, rattle. Within about a week the car sounds like it's 15 years old. The sunroof and interior trim and dashboard are the offenders. The sunroof is a problem with most Clios and is so annoying on a new car. BE WARNED - they can't fix it.
Ownership
Did you buy the car new?
New
Would you buy the same model again?

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
