Economy
Value
Lots of kit for the price but quality not quite up to the best standards.
Costs
Good fuel economy and long service intervals, but parts are expensive. 15"" low profiles are expensive.

On the road
Driving
A decent drive, with good compliant suspension. Car feels nippy, but gets a little noisy a motorway speeds. Little steering feedback.
Performance
This looks sporty but is no performance car. It does what a 1.2 is supposed to do, but don't expect great cornering or huge power.

Living with it
Reliability
Generally good. We had no major breakdowns in 3 years, but did have a couple of incidents of cutting out/stalling which is a known issue with Clios. This was sorted out under warranty.
Image
Clio is a very popular car and has a strong image, thanks to some clever advertising from Renault.
Comfort
Extremely comfortable interior with lovely sports seats, and leather steering wheel etc. Driving position is a little offset and not always comfortable for those who are tall.

Security and Service
Security
Remote central locking and automatic locking are excellent. Immobiliser, but no alarm on this spec.
Service
We purchased this car when Renault was having major problems with the quality of its customer service, and were treated very badly. However, our local dealership has since been taken over and recent Clio and Megane service have been excellent.
