Economy
Value
Expensive new, not so bad used, but not easy to source.
Costs
This engine is economical and comes in at about 38 mpg, slightly lower than advertised economy.

On the road
Driving
Handles well, but this diesel is a little intrusive on acceleration. Fine on the motorway.
Performance
Not too bad for a smallish engine pulling nearly two tons. Fine once you get going on the motorway. Adequate around town, though not especially quiet for a modern diesel.

Living with it
Reliability
I've had to replace a gearbox and clutch master cylinder under warranty. Some signs of moderate build quality e.g. rattling radio speakers and door fixings which came loose. Some squeaks from dash.
Image
Look gorgeous, especially from the front, which is why I bought it.
Comfort
Very airy and spacious cabin. Lovely clean interior lines and space-age dash. Like being in a Star Trek shuttle. I love it!
