Renault Grand Scenic (2004 - 2009) 1.9 dCi Dynamique 5d (7 Seats) Owner Review

I bought this car quickly and unexpectedly as my old one was a write off, unfortunately this meant my budget and time was very small. I have 3 children so need a large car but also do a 500 mile motorway trip once a month and drive to France at least twice a year (1500 mile round trip) so opted for a larger diesel. Mechanically the car is ok, the problems mainly stem from the electronics and having an early DPF system. Since I've had it I've done 12000 miles and in that time I've replaced 1 headlight, removed and cleaned the EGR valve, had the Parking Break completely refurbished, new ball joints, tracking and 2 tyres and one window regulator has stopped working. The emissions warning comes on and off intermittently (I think due to the heat shield above the CAT needing new bushes) ultimately the car is not great but if your able to work on it yourself then for £600 it's been cheaper than financing a new car. I would've been kicking myself if I bought one of these from new.
