Renault Koleos (2008 - 2010) 2.0 dCi Dynamique 2WD 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I fancied a Koleos from the first time I saw one. When my Hyundai i30 proved to be not up to towing my caravan I started looking for a bit more power. My options were Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and the Koleos. It proved to be a difficult search. I had discounted the Koleos at first as they are like Hens teeth to find. The other two had too many miles or too expensive. Then by sheer fluke a Koleos turned up just 10 miles away. It was just what I was looking for. Comfortable, powerfull, economical, and very roomy. On paper it has less boot space than the other two but the space seems more usable to me. A totally flat floor when the seats are folded is a real plus. The drop down tailgate is a brilliant idea and makes loading heavy objects a breeze. I would describe my driving style as "spirited" and I cant say the so called body roll is a problem. If you lift off mid corner what else do you expect. Handling is well up to the job in a car of this size and type. Fuel economy is pretty good but just like any other diesel motor it's all about torque not revs. Nip up the smooth gearbox below 3000 and you'll see over 39mpg with out much trouble. A high-speed cruise in excess of motorway speeds are not so frugal. The cruise control is ideal for this and set at 68mph I got 44mpg on a journey down the M4. If you want a two wheel drive SUV with good ground clearance that is comfortable, smooth driving, and a joy to be driving around in, look at the Kollywobble. You may have to look around a bit but well worth it. I can highly recommend one.
