Renault Laguna Estate 2.0 RT 5d (SR+AC) (1998/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Good value from new, not so sure about s/h.
Costs
Fair but Renault servicing offers no favours.
-
On the road
Driving
Handles and grips well, loaded or unloaded.
Performance
Awful - and noticeably worse when a/c is switched on! The Corsa 1.2 courtesy car I had when the Laguna was in for bodywork by far out-performed it. Fine for motorway cruising but engine is noisy/harsh.

Living with it
Reliability
Like the last Renault I had (a 19 1.7 RXE) I never had a moment"s trouble in three years from new.
Image
Perfectly respectable and not at all staid. A touch of class compared to a Mondeo (but image is only worth a light if the performance matches).
Comfort
Extremely comfortable even on longest journeys and it"s hard to find a more practical estate - load area is square-sided, flat and tailgate offers low access.

Security and Service
Security
Never had a problem.
