Patchy build quality, old engines lack refinement.
Renault Laguna Hatchback (94-01) rivals
Overview
The comfortable, practical Laguna hatchbacks and estates are excellent value for money. Laguna offers stylish family transport, though some traditional Renault faults remain. Build quality could be better, and the engines could be more refined on pre-1998 cars (the latest 16-valve units are much better). Even so, it’s certainly worth a look as a cheaper but acceptably well equipped alternative to Mondeo or Vectra.
