Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not your typical student car, I admit, but I like it.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family thinks it drives great, on a par with our Audi A6. Love the gadgets.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, though I might consider a higher spec, e.g. with Sat Nav.
What are you likely to buy next?
Keeping this for a good few years, not sure after.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
£4000. I got £400 for part-exchanged 10yr old Corsa, a lot more than it was worth. Compared to the Corsa (it had wheels, seats and a hamster to power it) the Laguna was like something from Q-branch. Keyless Entry! Air-con! An engine that works!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Seemed to get a lot of car for the money, wanted to upgrade from my first car (Corsa).
What was the dealer like?
Salesman was a tad pushy, but friendly and helped me check out insurance quotes on their systems. Gave me full documentation.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Good performance, though a bit of lag with engine cold. When you hit revs about 2000rpm, you *really* feel the acceleration. Eats motorway miles with ease, 6th gear handy. Reach high speeds without noticing.
What's it like to park?
Low visibility out the back but not a major problem, quite a large car so people used to small cars (e.g. me) may struggle at first, but get used to it easily.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Came with a faulty tyre pressure sensor, dealer aware and would repair free of charge, but hasn't materialised yet. Nothing has gone wrong.
What's most practical about your car?
48mpg with good performance, 44 when really pushed. Up to 54 on motorway! Good boot space, having four doors is a big step up for me. Tyre pressure sensors helpful.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Has to be the Keyless entry, though the fingertip stereo controls are useful.
